2019 saw the return of festival de luxe, an arts event brand created by district agency for chadstone.
Festival de Luxe 2019 saw Chadstone partner with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival to become a Comedy Festival venue for the first time, hosting ticketed shows as well as delivering world class free entertainment on Saturday evenings.
All 3 Comedy Shows held at Festival de Luxe delivered strong ticket sales with one of them selling out every show.
In addition to ticketed comedy shows, free family entertainment on Saturday evening saw increased dwell time and visitation to the centre, with a Variety Stage featuring internationally renowned variety acts Dado and Maple Staplegun.
Audiences were also treated to the astonishing talents of Mallakhamb India – a show derived from an ancient Indian acrobatic sport using traditional poles. Mallakhamb India were booked internationally after shows at Sydney Festival and Chadstone.
District Agency facilitated and negotiated the relationship with the Comedy Festival, and was responsible for creative direction, programming, ticket management, stakeholder management, event production, artist management, onsite event management and staffing.
