THE BRIEF

Conceptualise & deliver non-racing events to attract new audiences to the Melbourne Racing Club’s key race venues.

THE IDEA

Leverage the culinary credentials of the Mornington Peninsula to create a boutique food, wine and music gathering at the MRC’s Mornington Racecourse.

THE RESULT

The event sold out in it’s first year (4500 tickets) and second year (6000 tickets) and is one of the most successful on-going boutique events in the country.


Conceptualised as a picnic with a country harvest atmosphere, the Peninsula Picnic brings the region’s best restaurants, wineries and gourmet producers together for a spectacular day of indulgence.

In just two short years it has cemented itself as the most successful food, wine and music event ever held on the Peninsula.

District Agency was responsible for the creation of the event, from the event concept through to the event brand, imagery and logo. We’re also responsible for all year on year creative elements including site design and build, artist selection & negotiation, stallholder management, event production, site build, staging & stakeholder management.
